Would you like to take an active role in creating the Remakery as an organisation, a workspace and a business?
Teams are forming now – see link for details. Do you have expertise that could contribute to shaping one of these areas? And / or, are you interested in learning and gaining experience in one of these fields?
At the moment, the majority of work is voluntary, but there will increasingly be paid opportunities as the Remakery takes shape.
Exciting news: Ecosia has just launched a funding initiative. They’re calling for a submission of your own sustainable projects or business ideas for a chance to secure funding and actually make your idea happen.
Between 500 and 10,000 EUR are available to qualifying projects.
‘Picking up the pieces’ will bring together makers and cultural producers from the Hackney Wick area which explore issues around, recycling, reuse, and the collective production of public situations. The 2011 Open Architecture Challenge: [UN]RESTRICTED ACCESS asks architects and designers to partner with community groups across the world and develop innovative solutions to re-envision closed, abandoned and ecommissioned military sites. The six-month competition requires designers to work with the communities surrounding these former places of conflict to transform oftentimes hostile locations into civic spaces built for the public good.
See project brief attached.
