Since hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast a couple of months ago, Architecture for Humanity’s Disaster Team has been on the ground launching a major response campaign and identifying long-term reconstruction projects — as many of you already know, having your finger on the pulse.
I would like to encourage each of you to take a look at the indiegogo Rebuild One Block campaign, which is focused on raising reconstruction funds for first responders affected by the disaster — those men & women who selflessly cared for others before recognizing that they too are in need of assistance.
Rebuild One Block is a collaborative effort by Fools Gold, Mad Decent Blood Company, TMWRK and OWSLA to support us in our 200K “Big Hairy Audacious Goal”. It is feasible with even the smallest amounts of support; it’s enough to rebuild one home and repair a number of others.
To all my peers who have already made generous donations, thank you. For the rest, I encourage you to put your hand in mine, and consider supporting this effort as there is power in numbers. This holiday season, and with three campaign days remaining, consider the gift of a tax-deductable donation for our fellow humans on the other side of our nation.
