Greetings and happy new year!
We hope you had an relaxing and inspiring holiday season! We are eager for what 2013 might have in store and excited to get started visioning, relationship-building and working together toward a better Dallas-Fort Worth.
Lately, our founders have been asking the question ‘What do you see’? with regard to our neighborhoods, military bases and other places in need of restoration (see this link for inspiration: http://architectureforhumanity.org/whatdoyousee) Although we at the chapter level generally work on a smaller scale, the same could be asked of a local transit stop (there’s one at Oak Lawn and 35 that comes to mind), elementary school playground or a deserted public art plaza. So, what do YOU see for Dallas-Fort Worth?
If you have been curious about AFH but we haven’t met yet, you don’t want to miss this meeting! We will:
1. Hear from current chapter leaders about our 2012 projects and partnerships
2. Discuss and nominate chapter leadership for 2013*
3. Strategize for the coming year
We look forward to seeing you on the 15th at The Common Table.
Jared & James, 2012 co-directors
Ryan & Stephen, chapter co-founders
*If you’re interested, shoot Ryan an e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) for details. Leaders will serve a very flexible 1-ish year term. Activities may include organizing meetings, meeting with community leaders and identifying needs/professional partners in the community.
