Architecture for Humanity New York is looking for an individual with prior experience in the organization to join the Board of Directors as the Director of Operations.
Architecture for Humanity New York is lead by a board of six strategic directors who serve a two-year term.

Director of Operations
The Director of Operations is the hub of the organization’s information management. He or she manages the on-line database that contains the archive of all of AFHny’s production to date, and also supports technical aspects of active projects.
He or she attends and prepares minutes from all meet-ups and director meetings. He or she works with the Director of Development ensure transparency in all financial matters, funds in AFHny bank account, full record-keeping related to donations, fundraisers and grants, disbursements, project budgets and overall operating funds for the organization.
He or she coordinates with Architecture for Humanity headquarters to ensure exchange of information is conducted according to best practices and tools available on line are the most effective and appropriate. He or she ensures proper materials are available to team members, directors, AFH HQ, and clients.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Excellent coordination, verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to maintain a schedule and records.
- Ability to work independently and to manage various ongoing projects.
- Genuine interest in and knowledge of architecture, design, and community building.
- Experience with Architecture for Humanity New York. Priority will be given to previous active AFHny volunteers in projects or coordination teams.
This position is open to everyone, but note that directors are volunteer and unpaid. Directors should expect to commit a minimum of ten hours per week to the organization for the duration of their term beginning December 2014-2016. Time commitment may fluctuate based on event schedules. The New York Chapter is 100% volunteer run.
